PGA REACH SOUTHERN TEXAS AWARDS $122,500 IN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

This year’s amount is an all-time high for the PGA REACH Southern Texas Scholarship Program.

SPRING, TEXAS—The PGA REACH Southern Texas Scholarship Program is awarding 31 scholarships amounting to $122,500 to 26 individuals for the 2021-22 school year. This amount is an all-time high for the foundation.

Since 1999, the PGA REACH Southern Texas Scholarship Program (formally known as the STPGA Foundation Scholarship Program) has awarded more than 386 scholarships and over $1,312,500 to young adults seeking higher education. Scholarships are given to graduating high school and current college students who demonstrate high levels of achievement and outstanding character.

“It is always exciting to announce the recipients of our scholarship program,” said Thomas Hutton, Executive Director of the Southern Texas PGA, “These young adults continue to overcome obstacles both in the classroom and on the golf course, and we are so proud of what they have achieved.”

“We are so grateful for our trustees’ support in this year’s program,” said Hutton. “To reach another record-high amount for scholarships shows how supportive our Southern Texas golf community is in impacting lives.”

The Scholarship Program introduced three new scholarships this year, totaling to eight more scholarship opportunities awarded to our applicants. Thank you so much to our new partners at the Austin Golf Society, Vortech Contracting, and the Cimarron Hills Pro-Am honoring J.L. Lewis.

A special thank you goes to the Hannon Cup Association, Harmon Family Foundation and Team Reed Foundation for their continued contribution to our scholarship program along with all of our trustees.
