2022 Texas Junior Cup and Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches Qualification Guidelines

Earn your spot on the 2022 STPGA Texas Junior Cup and Ben Hogan Junior Cup Teams!

The Texas Junior Cup presented by TCG Advisors is an annual competitive event between the Southern and Northern Texas PGA Sections. This marks TCG Advisors 5th year of support and has helped elevate the event by playing on some of the best courses in Southern Texas and allowing a first class event for players, caddies, and parents! Based in Austin, TCG Advisors delivers investment and retirement planning solutions that provide peace of mind and lead clients to financial success. They love supporting the next generation and seeing juniors play at a high level! 


This fiercely contested rivalry between two sister Sections is marked by close matches, dramatic shots, uncompromising sportsmanship, and new friendships. Each team consists of 12 junior golfers (six boys and six girls) who are 12 years old and younger.

There are various Championships for players to earn a spot on the STPGA Texas Junior Cup Matches team. Below are the events in which the champion of the listed divisions will earn a spot to represent Team STPGA.

Hosted by the Southern Texas PGA, the 11th Annual Texas Junior Cup Matches will be held Saturday, September 17 – Sunday, September 18 at Sand Hill Farm Golf Course for a second year. Last year, Team STPGA took a commanding lead on day one and won the Cup with an overall score of 15-9, retaining the Cup for the fourth year, in a row. Help the Southern Texas PGA keep the Texas Junior Cup at this years Matches!

The Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches is an annual competitive event between the Southern and Northern Texas PGA Sections. The Matches provide a unique, one-of-a-kind experience for each Sections best playing golfers. Each team consists of 12 of the top junior golfers (six boys and six girls) who are 13-18 years of age.

 

There are multiple opportunities for players to earn a spot on the STPGA Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches team. Below are the Srixon Prestige Tour events in which the champion of the listed divisions will earn a spot to represent Team STPGA.

Hosted by the Northern Texas PGA, the 7th Annual Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches will be held Monday, August 8 – Tuesday, August 9 at Shady Oaks Country Club in Westworth Village. Last year Team NTPGA took back the Cup with an overall score of 16-8 after back-to-back wins from Team STPGA the previous years. Plenty of Golf Still This Fall at the STPGA!

Spring, TX - Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of golf ahead at the Southern Texas PGA! With opportunities to qualify for Team STPGA, championship events, Drive, Chip & Putt competition and more than 100 events remaining across STPGA Junior Golf programs, the fall season is set to be an exciting one. Qualify for the Bayou Cup The road to the Bayou Cup continues this fall as junior golfers compete for the opportunity to represent Team STPGA. Players still have opportunities to earn their spot and compete alongside some of the top junior golfers in Southern Texas. Below are the upcoming events where players can earn an exemption toward a spot on Team STPGA for this year’s Bayou Cup. PT Recap: STPGA Challenge

Cypress, TX (August 10-11, 2026) – The Srixon Prestige Tour stayed in Houston for the STPGA Challenge at BlackHorse Golf Club, where players took on a competitive two-day championship. Round one brought challenging conditions and rain delays, but the field remained focused and made the most of every opportunity once play resumed. Despite the interruptions, players delivered strong performances throughout the opening round before returning for day two ready to finish strong. From steady play to clutch moments down the stretch, the talented field once again showcased the resilience and determination that define the Srixon Prestige Tour. STPGA JUNIOR GOLF CROWNS 15 CHAMPIONS TO CLOSE OUT SUMMER SEASON

307 Junior Golfers from across Southern Texas earned their way to the Championship after playing in countless events all summer long. THE WOODLANDS, TX (AUGUST 6, 2026) - The Southern Texas PGA Junior Golf Program wrapped up the summer season for 2026 with a record-breaking 307 player field at the annual STPGA Junior Championship. Hosted at The Woodlands Country Club – Palmer Course for the 13th time, 15 Champions were crowned across our three programs of Little Linksters, Junior Links, and Junior Tour. The extraordinary talent and sportsmanship on display all week long serve as an ongoing inspiration for aspiring junior golfers. The event started with a bang with the yearly “Carnival Day” on Monday, giving our junior golfers and families the opportunity to have some summertime fun before the competition began. In true carnival fashion, there were so many activities that it was hard to hit everything!
