STPGA Junior Golf Sponsors
Southern Texas PGA Foundation

The Southern Texas PGA has taken a leadership role in the region's junior golf activities through the Southern Texas PGA Foundation's Junior Golf Program. Designed to introduce golf to beginning juniors and to enhance the skills of juniors already involved in the game, the Foundation's goals are achieved through a variety of instructional programs and clinics, tournaments and golf programs at schools throughout southern Texas. As part of its Junior Tour, Junior Links Tour, and Little Linksters Programs, the Foundation operates junior tournament and instructional based programs in Austin, Beaumont, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi, Houston, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley.
Over 2,600 juniors enrolled in the Foundation's activities in 2010, a year during which the program grew to include over 300 tournaments and more than 120 clinics.

Southern Texas Section, PGA of America
The Southern Texas Section of the PGA of America is an outgrowth of the original Texas PGA Section, founded in Houston in 1922 and divided into two sections in 1968 when PGA activities in Texas grew beyond the administrative capabilities of one section. The STPGA encompasses the geographic territory in Texas south of the 31st parallel of latitude, an area that includes about 350 golf courses and clubs.
Major population centers within STPGA territory include Houston, Austin, Beaumont, San Antonio, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley. Over 800 golf professionals are STPGA members.
The Southern Texas PGA's goals are to promote the game of golf and to contribute to its growth. The Section strives to reach those goals by working to improve the skills of its members while providing numerous golf opportunities for people within its geographic territory, and by providing a wide range of services to the region's golf industry.
