The Road to Augusta: Drive Chip & Putt Finalist, Christine Wang

After finishing second in last year's Drive Chip & Putt Championship (Girls 12-13), Christine Wang (Houston) will be heading back to Augusta National in hopes of taking home first place this year. See what she had to say about her preparation this year as she looks to avenge last year. 
  
STPGA: What are you most excited about for your trip to Augusta National? 
CW: To go back to August National again to compete and have chance to win this year.

STPGA:How are you practicing for the DCP Finals?
CW: Practice on my putting distances, working on the fast greens.

STPGA: Who all will be traveling to Augusta National to cheer for you?
CW: My mom and dad

STPGA: How did the STPGA program prepare you for the DCP Competition?
CW: I started playing in STPGA tournaments when I was 7. The STPGA gives all junior golfer opportunities to compete at different levels. They encouraged me to sign up for the Drive, Chip, and Putt and made sure I practice hard for the qualifiers.

STPGA: Is there anyone you want to thank for helping you get to this championship?
CW: My parents and coaches, also the STPGA.  

STPGA: What golf course do you practice at in Texas?
CW: Royal Oaks Country Club in Houston

STPGA: Do you currently work with a PGA Professional and if so, who?
Yes, Doug Randall and Alan Hodde

STPGA: Besides this, what are your biggest golf accomplishments so far?
CW: I got third place at the U.S. Kids World Champion when I was 10 and last year won the Greater Houston City Junior Match play Championship.
 
STPGA: What do you do for fun outside of golf?
CW: I play a little tennis.
