In conjunction with the Northern Texas PGA, the Southern Texas PGA is excited to announce that The Needler at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, TX will play host to the 4th Annual Texas Junior Cup Matches on October 24-25, 2015. This Ryder Cup style event between the two sister PGA sections features twenty-four junior golfers under the age of 12.

"We are excited to host the best twenty-four juniors in Texas," said Chris Rowe, Head PGA Golf Professional at Whispering Pines. "Part of our mission at Whispering Pines is to give back to the game and providing these juniors this opportunity is perfect. We look forward to competitive golf and great sportsmanship."

Now entering its fourth year, the Northern Texas PGA will look to retain the Cup after forging a come-from-behind win in 2014 at Northwood Club in Dallas. Northern Texas PGA currently owns a 2-1 record in the matches.

"The event has really become the flagship tournament in Texas for the best young juniors," said Mike Ray, Executive Director of the Southern Texas PGA.  "Even in its short history, we are seeing these juniors continue to have success on the golf course as they grow up."

The event features three 9 hole matches and a total of twenty-four points. The juniors play a variety of formats ranging from mixed best ball to scramble to single matches.

Throughout the summer, juniors in both Northern and Southern Texas have opportunities to earn a spot on their respective teams.
