Sprinkles turned into showers this past weekend at Gleannloch Pines Golf Club for the Little Linksters Summer Preview. While day one was filled with only partly cloudy skies, day two’s thunder wrapped up the tournament earlier than anticipated. Despite the weather complications, the Little Linksters dominated the greens.

The Boys 11-12 division was neck-and-neck throughout the nine hole tournament as competitors put forth their best efforts until the very end. Taking home the win was Kevin Kim (Houston) finishing with combined scores of 35-39. Kim’s win earned him a spot on the Texas Junior Cup team.

Treed Huang (Katy) took home the trophy in the Boys 9-10, nine hole modified division after finishing three-under-par in both rounds of the tournament. Sinking three birdies in a row during round two, Huang too earned himself a spot on the upcoming Texas Junior Cup team for his division.

Jackie Feldman (Austin) was all smiles after learning she earned a spot on the Texas Junior Cup following her overall win for the Girls 11-12 division. Feldman completed the rounds with a combined score of four-over-par.

It was a well-deserved win for Julia Vollmer (San Antonio) of the Girls 9-10 nine hole modified division. Vollmer stole the show leading her group with a scorecard that read 66 for over the two-day tournament. Following Vollmer was Maye Huang (Katy) with an overall score of 71.

Included in this Little Linkters tournament was a Co Ed 6-8 division consisting of both five and nine hole competition. Cole Mistretta (Sugar Land) was victorious for the five hole competition while Finn Burkholder (Woodlands) took home the win in the nine hole.

The Boys and Girls 9-10 age groups too played in a modified five hole game over the weekend. Winning the boys division was Weston Timura Jr. (Spring) and Maura Stricklin (Cypress) for the girls.

The Southern Texas PGA would like to personally thank all the caddies and family members that came and supported the Little Linksters over the weekend.
